Enyan Obontser Gears Up for OHCAF 2023: A Spectacle of Tradition, Togetherness, and Gratitude.

In a dazzling display of rich culture and timeless traditions, the Chiefs and people of Enyan Obontser in the Central Region launched the much-awaited Annual Obontser Homecoming & Akwambo Festival (OHCAF) on Friday, August 04, 2023, promising an unforgettable experience that will leave an indelible mark in the history of Obontserman

With the theme "The Re-Awakening of Obontserman: Vision, Purpose & Together,"  OHCAF 2023 is poised to energise participants to celebrate the unity and resilience of the Obontser Community, whilst serving as the most appropriate platform for them to express their profound gratitude to God and their ancestors for guiding and sustaining them through the centuries. The origins of their settlement, dating back to the year AD 1210 when they migrated from Mankessim, add an extraordinary historical significance to the festival.

During the vibrant launch ceremony, held amidst a myriad of colours, grace, and tradition, the various speakers emphasized the festival's uniqueness and the community's collective vision to rebuild Obontserman into a thriving future. A beacon of hope, the newly established Enyan Obontser Community Development Foundation (EOCDF), will play a pivotal role in supporting this vision of progress and prosperity.

Hon. Rashid Etuafful, a hopeful contender in the Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam Constituency Parliamentary Primaries of the New Patriotic Party, displayed his commitment to the Obontser community by presenting a generous donation of Seven Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHS 7000.00) to support the vibrant festivities of OHCAF 2023.

OHCAF 2023 will kick off on Sunday, August 27, delighting patrons with seven magical days and nights of festivities. The highlight of the festival will be the Grand Procession of Chiefs, a majestic Durbar, fundraising for the activities of EOCDF and an enthralling Musical Concert featuring the sensational Kofi Kinaata, all scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 02.

The driving force behind OHCAF 2023 comes from the collaborative efforts of EOCDF and CashPlanet Ghana, the organizers of the innovative Home-Sweet-Home-Raffle, which enables participants to potentially win three-bedroom house every 6-months among other souvenirs, with a mere 10 cedis investment!
